Hi, another soon to be D3 owner from SE London here. Due end of September from Harwoods funny enough.
I've been given a build date of 15th September with delivery 10 days later. Does anyone know if this would be the date they start building or the date it is due to be completed?

I was told by LR customer services that it takes 5-7 days to build, 5 days if started on Monday but you have to count the 2 days for the weekend if started during the week, hence 5-7 days to build. That's what they told me and i don't know any different so I have had to accept they were telling the truth and not a pack of lie's.
Maybe in the next few months we may pass each other on the SE London roads.

Further to my last post / reply.
LR customer services said my vehicle is due to start being built 08/09/06 and delivery to Harwoods 18/09/06, and I will be able to collect probably on 20/09/06.
I hope it is the 20/09/06 so the PERMAGRIN can set in.

Just been told that my new SE that I was due to collect on the 15th Sept has been delayed by "rear door seal problems". New collection date is 29th Sept but have been assured it's an 07MY Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

Blakey, I'll look out for you in SE London. I've gone for an HSE in Tonga Green with black interior. Hopefully if you see it on a Sunday it'll be Tonga + mud as I hope to use it as God intended.
Jomo, aaaaaaarrgh! I'd managed to convince myself I wasn't bothered if it was an 06 or 07 build. Now there's a vague chance that a 15th Sep build could be an 07 model I'm getting excited again.
It's going to be 18 very long days....

BREAKING NEWS
Is Jomo a scaremonger or has he been stitched up ?.....
Hopefully Mach1 will be happy with this.....So here goes.
Original order of D3 was due for delivery to the dealer (Harwoods, Edenbridge) on 18/09/06.
Available to collect 20/09/06.
Spoke with salesman at Harwoods at lunch time day to confirm he has received config sheet and insurance cover note.....He had.
Asked about delay to rear door seals as posted by Jomo.
Informed......No problem.
Vehicle is built and will be delivered to dealer on Monday 11/09/06 (1 week early).
Asked is vehicle a 06 or 07 build, he checked the paperwork and informed of some other number which he said means it is 06 build, but that on the HSE there are no major changes between a 06 and 07 build (dealers quote and not mine).
Major problem later in the afternoon....The Permagrin set in very fast, went to local chemist and they infomed me that they have plenty of stock of Permagrin in cream and tablet form should I ever need it and being a D3 owner there is no antidote available for extreme cases of this facial disease.
Looks like the weekend just got better and next weekend will be even better than this one.
Lets hope Mach1 that you also get a week early delivery on yours.

Cool news Blakey!
Travelling round the M25 to the M40 this afternoon, it was easy to spot the d3 drivers from that "permagrin" flash of white reflecting out of the cab's. Welcome to the club.
My permagrin is only changed when people get in my way on the way home (M40 North bound and grandad in a blue Fiesta doing 60mph, straddling the middle and outside lane with acres of space in front )- it becomes more of a grimace'a'grin.

Hey Blakey, sounds like good news. I had to speak to the sales guy at Harwoods today about another vehicle I've just bought (not for me) and he confirmed that mine would definitely be an '06 model. I'm happy with this. What would really annoy me is if I had ended up with an 07 & not ordered the TV. Having an 06 where it's not an option is OK because I'm not missing out. (Does that make sense, I think that's just bloke logic.)
Sad confession time: After getting a build date of the 15th Sep I booked a factory tour for the 20th. If I get the car a week early I can suffer missing seeing it built in exchange for an early Permagrin. If not, does anyone know roughly what stage in the build process my car would be at, just so I know where to look out for it?
Cheers.

I think I mentioned in earlier post that LR customer services told me that a D3 takes 5-7 days to build, 5 days if started on Monday - finished on Friday or if build starts mid week its 7 days because of the weekend....
Go on LR pay em overtime and get em out early and quick.
Long weekend.......YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.
Permagrin............LOADSSSSSSSSSSS of it.
Discoflo seems nearly as happy as me...

Got the baby.....13/09/06.
I had forgot what a great drive this vehicle is, having waited a long time....but yesterday the PERMAGRIN kicked in big time and could not stop the h**d on, not even with cold water, yes I got wet in the rain looking and playing with it.
So it seems this years birthday and christmas arrived early.
Got to ring the dealer this morning as I've got 3 small problems, but the main one is the lower half of the tailgate has not been adjusted correctly, its and even worse when opened it is catching a wiring loom which seems not to have been routed correctly.
Anyway back to the main subject, it has arrived as an 06 MY.
Thats what I ordered and thats what I got and I'm chuffed to bits with it.
Thanks again for all your input and I'll be pestering you all for info no doubt very soon.
