Hi, got a few issues I'm trying to get to the bottom of. Any advice woukd be much appreciated. I've recently replaced my transfer box. Now when pulling away in 1st gear or reverse on a tight lock I get a loud constant knocking noise almost like the car is wanting to jump forward too. The prop shaft bearing was goosed so replaced that too but the issue is still on going. Now wondering if this would be related to the steering rack?? I do a lot of relatively heavy towing frequently. Anyone had similar issues?
Cheers, Dale

Hi Andy, thanks for your reply. Is that something only a main dealer can do or can an independent landrover specialist carry this out. Any ideas on a rough cost?
Thanks again, Dale.

Hello Dale,
I see you are from South Ayrshire.
Have you tried Gibsons at Cumnock?
Excellent Landrover people.

Thanks Jim, I will give them a call. I like to try and solve things myself first.....if I can, for obvious reasons ££££.....always something needing done with a landrover. If I don't get anywhere I will be sure to give them a call.
Thanks for your reply 👍

Any independent or "nice" member near to you with a code reader should be able to do calibration.
There is a way of doing it yourself by using the car controls in a certain sequence, but i cannot remember it do a search on here to find it.
Andi.
Sounds good fun "rolling on a sausage"

Thanks Andi, I am just in from trying the calibration sequence.....I found a guide on here earlier. Have run through it twice but has made no difference to the knocking noise I'm getting when pulling away slowly on hard lock and also when in reverse. I do have a clunk now when the vehicle is brought to a stop and have dis-engaged from drive to park.
Thanks again for your input 👍

Ok, not sure how effective doing at home is to be honest, so may still be worth getting it checked,
Not the first time i have had Scottish sausage embarrassment. At a hotel i asked where the dam sausage was and the smug waitress pointed to the square scottish sausage. T##t of the day

Square sausage sometimes called Lorne sausage. Yummy! 2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone. Second last LR of forty eight years continuous ownership.

CalMac ferry to Brodick with a big queue at cafeteria. Chap serving has it down to a fine art giving the options available; bacon, black pudding, hash brown or tattie scone, fried or scrambled egg, brown or white toast etc. Woman comes up and he starts his spiel “square or link?” and is met with silence. “Square or link?” he tries again. “What?” Is the baffled woman’s come back. “Square or link sausage?” says he. “What’s Square sausage?” Says the perplexed female who seems to think he’s having her on. “It’s sausage that’s square” was the somewhat confused response accompanied by stifled laughter from the queue. It’s hard to believe some folk have grown up never having encountered a square sausage. we just think it’s internationally known.
