Imo they look c**p, just doesn't suit the somewhat tough no nonsense image of the D3.

Maybe a bit blunt, but I feel that such things are best left on the options list, for those that want to make the interior more "saloon" like.
One of the big attractions for me of D3 was it's "Tonka" like styling & interior. That, coupled with the fact that it drove much better & was more practical, in that it could seat 7 and with a full set of rubber mats fitted I wouldn't cringe every time me and my passengers climbed in with muddy clothes and boots on, led me away from buying an 06 model FFRR.

Only messing LT I think the same but it was on the car & I did not have any choice. it does help a bit with the alpacca, breaks up the beige, but I'd imagine with the ebony it would look very odd!

Would like to see what it would look like with lighter wood. The RRS with alpaca and rose/cherry? wood trim looks very nice.

No worries DSL, really my point is that these things should be an option, maybe a no cost option on the HSE.
Perhaps you are able to spec. a new D3 without the wood caps for no cost.
Personally, I'd have been fuming if my D3 had arrived with them fitted without me knowing about it. Maybe the dealer didn't know, if they did they certainly should have told you.
You're right though they blend in with the alpaca better than ebony.
Maybe I shouldn't have drunk so much coffee today!

I knew about it, that car was built & available & had what I thought was a reasonable deal on it (you never have as the steaers always screw you!!!). I've gotten used to it but still think they look a bit plasticy. No way I'd pay the £421 LR want for them. When I first saw them in the flesh I thought that they could have been worse.
Saying that I did get free Priv Glass which I like (gangsta rappa look) which was the same, "No way am I paying for that!" line with the dealer. Suits the bonatti well.

Sorry, defo. a case of too much coffee & not enough sleep, coupled with not reading the thread properly
I thought that the wood caps were standard now, ignore my previous rants.
The privacy glass does suit the bonnati, sadly IMO it doesn't suit the java black, makes it look like a van.

Bottle already opened (breathing) awaiting my arrival home, thinking I might need to phone Mrs LT to get her to open another one.

Oh no - gutted to read 07MY SE changes - now my back seat passengers will have to suffer cold bums and warm drinks... all whilst listening to music through their headphones..... when will this madness ever end?!!
Has anyone seen pictures of the new wheel styles - the website is still on 06MY models??

Nowt wrong with vans, I've been a "white van man", drove a Renault Traffic about 20 years ago.
There is a black HSE that belongs to a chap in the office unit next to mine, in certain light the factory tinted windows look the same colour as the panels, giving it a "van" like appearance. Which, IMO doesn't look that great. Whereas other colour D3's look good with tints, again IMO.
Each to their own though.
