Is it easy to take the motor off and inspect / view it?. Might be able to bring it to thaw out Mr. Green

If it's frozen up in the pump, spraying de-icer on the motor wont help.
I dont know for sure on the D3 but washer pumps are normally attached to the bottom of the washer bottle, given that the washer bottle is mostly in the front N/S wing, it's unlikely to thaw out after a drive.

The motor is well hidden. Its behind the front edge of the front left wheel arch liner. If you take out the screws holding the bottom of the bumper plastic to the liner, and some of the scrivets that hold the liner in place at the front, plus some other screws that will be around the front of the liner, you should be able to pull it back to see it.

Pain in the Censored it is. Mine were frozen solid all day. Mind you, we were at -16 this morning. My fuse was not blown, if you turn radio and heater off, when you dab the end of the stalk you should hear a relay click behind the glove box. No click means blown fuse. Click means frozen pump. Just dab the button as it stops the wipers ripping themselves to shreds on a dry dirty and icy windscreen.

To thaw it out, get a kettle full of hot water, and pour it around the outside of the washer filler neck, it will pour out around the outside of the tank and should help thaw out the pump.

Maybe it would be a good idea to drain the tank at the end of each day, and just add enough hot water/antifreeze mix the following morning, to last the day?

Had the same at the beginning of the week - putting in neat concentrated screenwash didn't help but parked for a few hours in an underground car park and that warmed everything enough to flush the watered down stuff out and they've been fine since.

Censored annoying having to stop every few miles to clean the salt off the screen!

Nearly as annoying as the way the light guards collect snow, or the contortions you have to go through to get fuses out of the fuse box. But without doubt the best car in the world!

hi, how did you sort this. mines not worked for a week. changed fuse last night even though old one looked fine. took me 20 mins to get to the bloody fuse box as i was scared of breaking the glove box. there was a click when i changed the fuse but still no washers. surely cant be still frozen it`s been glorious all week. bought her in feb as approved used from main dealer, would this be covered or will they call it wear and tear and try to ass rape me!! like when it went back for the mot and they told me it needed four tires, until they realised i`d only had it twelve days so they were paying and suddenly it only needed one. amazing these disco3`s the tire tread grows back. cheers. Rolling with laughter
