As commented by Spotter elsewhere, it's a bit slippy out there this morning. Cue everyone driving at 15mph.
I have a long, straight road at the start of my morning drive, with about 3/4 mile of visibility and no entrances on to that stretch so I overtook a couple of cars..... only for the one at the front to accelerate. Yup, it was a Prius. When I say accelerate, it picked up speed. Accelerate implies "woosh!" and images of cheeks pulled back to your ears by g-forces. Not happening. So I get up to the heady heights of 45mph (it's a 60 limit) and complete the overtake as I have no plans on getting caught behind a scalextric car on the lanes and hills that follow.
At the end of the road I slowed for the T-junction that takes me onto the lanes. As I'm about to pull out I hear frantic tooting from behind and look back to see the Prius sliding towards me at a rate of knots. I pull clear of the junction and watch, spittle flecking my steering wheel as my breath comes in pants of drooling anticipation..... and YES!!!! The Prius whizzes across the junction, straight into the wall on the other side of the road.
Good thing I have leather seats, as I confess to letting out a little bit of wee as I sat there, laughing like I just found the key to my cell in the asylum.
You'll be pleased to hear that while I've pulled over a dozen cars and vans out in recent days I stayed true to my word and left him there. Prick should get a clue and drive to the conditions. Anyone got any "poor choice of vehicle" stickers? I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

made my morning!
of course you could have really hammered the nail in if you wished by being a 'witness' and claiming he attempted to race you and thus it was not an accident but a direct result of his 'failing to take due care and attention' or 'dangerous driving' or [insert appropriate road traffic offence wording] Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Toot Toot A happy childhood ... is the worst possible preparation for life.
No safe place to stop to take pics unfortunately Dunc. The road at the end isn't quite single-track, but unless you stop in a hedge there's no way anyone can pass. Around the next bend I nearly got sideswiped by a fishtailing bus I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

my neighbour very wisely put their 3 series back on the drive (with the aid of some doormats and much pushing) and let me do the school run for them this morning.........not every day there are 4 teenage blondes in the car end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......
