105k service in the midlands
Hi all
Just wondered if anybody can suggest a local place to carry out the 105k mile service on my 2009 disco. It’s showing 96k but is well past the 7 year point so needs it doing.
I’ve looked on this forum and elsewhere but can’t find anything up to date. Most info is from over a year or two ago and prices like £600 are being quoted. My local dealer and stratstone Newport have quotes £1200 but that seems fairly steep. Waiting for a quote from my local independent but don’t expect it to be much cheaper going by his usual prices.
I’m in Hereford but quite willing to travel to save money. Anybody got any recent experience or advice?

Thanks mate. Just tried them and it’s £800 without oil pump, £950 if needed. Mines 09 so hoping it’s not required.
Much more competitive so quite tempted to go with them but will see if anybody else has suggestions.

Cannot recommend Alltracks enough.
I travel all the way from Kent for all my serious work as trust is very important to me as much as good workmanship.

Thanks for advice Rob9990. I was quite happy with their quote in honesty but tried my usual independent specialist who I have spent over a 1k with since July this year (on my previous vehicle, a defender td5). They said given the age of my disco it WILL need the oil pump, and for everything including vat I would be looking at £900 and he will knock some off as well as a bit of loyalty discount. I will probably go with him, but in future I will definitely give Alltracks a look in. Was impressed with them on the phone as they seemed helpful and friendly.
In truth when buying I budgeted 1200 quid for the service so 900 or less feels like I'm getting a good deal, but I can't say I'm looking forward to handing over that amount of money for a vehicle that will look and feel exactly the same after the work is done. Better than it going kaput though so it has to be done.

Might be a bit far for you but I've used Ultimate 4x4 Specialists in Netherton for the past 10 years or so.
They used to be called Ultimate Land Rover but JLR's legal department sent them a cease and desist.

Hi Iceman, it’s Dinedor Landrover. They aren’t particularly cheap but seem to be highly regarded locally. Have you used them?

Well the service is now complete. It was a bit more expensive than I expected but included front brake pads and some other bits. Money well spent for peace of mind, and I will not bear a grudge with the garage as they have been decent with me in the past, and will hopefully continue to do so.Discovery 3 XS - sold

The final price was quite a bit more than I expected, and I thought we had agreed but the garage said otherwise. I was considering not using them any more however a week after the cambelt was changed my car broke down (High pressure fuel pump), and in order for me to not miss my planned week in Scotland the garage took the car in immediately jumping a 10 day waiting list, fixed the car within 24hrs, and liaised with the dealer who sold me the car who was paying for it under warranty.
