13 pin electric socket orientation
Just about to fit the 13 pin towing electric on my D4.
In the back of my mind somewhere I can remember a debate on how to site the socket for best fit when attaching the cable from the trailer / caravan.
To me the options are......
Near side socket hole / offside socket hole ????
and
Socket Hinge orientated North / South / East or West
Any advice, cheers???2000 D2 TD5 - big red tractor no longer with us
2006 D3 - no longer with us and sadly missed
2010 D4 alas no more, but a lovely colour (Nara)
2016 D4 about to depart
2022 DS nearly...........
Both D4’s I’ve had, 13 Pin located on the right with the hinge towards the offside, hinge to the east. Friends RRS is the same except hinge to the east, wasn’t comfortable to me but could be as I’m used to my own.
An adaptor for two 7-pin leads will then fit if required.A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Thanks......I was thinking, as I'm right handed, open socket cover with left hand (so hinge to the West - 9 o'clock) and so insert trailer plug with right hand.2000 D2 TD5 - big red tractor no longer with us

Mine has been fitted on the right with the hinge at 3 o clock and it’s a right pain in the . I ended up unbolting it to get the caravan twisty 13 pin attached properly.
