2.5K Miles France and back
I have just completed this years trip to France and my Disco has been fantastic.
It was loaded up with 4 adults and shed loads of gear and I haven't had any problems at all, it never flickered once. It's a pleasure to drive and eats those French toll roads.
Overall I got 28.3 MPG over 2532 miles with the air con on so I was very happy with this. Although sitting/start/stopping on the M25 for 3 hours I could have got better.
One thing I found that in France I only saw about 20 Disco3's in two weeks and most of them were Uk with tin tents.
I still love to drive my Disco3.
Anyone been to France recently with there Disco3?Arctic Frost Discovery 3 TDV6 SE, Active Rear Diff, Adaptive Head Lights, Tow Pack, Ebony Leather, Roof Rails, Mantec Guard. Tasmod Stainless Sill plates. Grabber AT's. Home made mud flaps. Side Steps back on until the next time.

I've just come back from a 2.8K ride around France - Normandy, Britanny and Vendee areas. The trip was longer due to diverting via Durham on our route down from the Manchester Area to Folkstone (Tunnel) so we could pick up an emergency Passport (should have checked the kid's 5 year Passport sooner).
No Tin Tent behind us, as we use the Eurocamp Tents - Same tent, same layout at each Campsite - makes life easier for us and the children.

I think we did about 3400 miles this year in 4 weeks
Towed the tintent through France-Belgium-Luxembourg-France-Italy-France
Only used one toll autoroute and that was to go see the Millau bridge
D3 never failed (apart from high-note horn vanishing)
Found the highest road in the Alps and some easy off-road routes around Mont St.Cenis
not in france but me TFC and RLD just did a 3,500 mile trip to norwayYou May Think I Said What You Thought I Said But What You Thought I Said I Did Not

just returned from south west France last week - dragged tintent, 5 x bikes, boards, wife & 3 kids to and from Hourtin Plage (on coast to slight NW of Bordeaux)
euro was a bit strong..... wine still pretty cheap though
D3 was 8) - no issues at all!! well, except for the passenger door stopping opening (need to do a bit of searching to see if others have had this issue)
clocked just shy of 1.8k miles
got 38 pages of posts to catch up on........2007 TDV6SE Auto Stornoway Grey - now sold...

not in France alone but covered most of Europe going home for short brake and covered 3K including some 400 miles in Polish "lake district" with roads as narrow as disco itself lol lots of fun
fun to drive in Germany doing 110 and seeing all in front of you changing lane quick to avoid being pushed off the road lol
Found the highest road in the Alps and some easy off-road routes around Mont St.Cenis
Nope!
You found the second highest road in the Alps..............
Ask me how I know..........
This one (on this years calendar) was taken in the background of the sign at Col de L'iseran
This one, was taken on the highest (public) road in the Alps.:

First day back at work today after getting back from France yesterday .
Spent 3 weeks in the Vendee with the tintent. Had a brilliant time. Once again, Disco was . Hauled 5 adults, all luggage, boards, beach and picnic gear, fully loaded 1900kg twin-axle tintent plus a bootful of wine ( return trip only ) over 1000 miles with ease. Only fault was an intermittent airbag warning light but that could have been caused by the heat out there.
Spotted quite a few D3s out there but none with a D3 sticker. Most were UK registered but also spotted several French registered ones too, far more than last year. Don't know if they were local though.
Pitch all booked for next year so roll on next July (must stop wishing my life away )Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills

OK JMC ... I'll agree (having checked in Wikipedia) the highest paved road in the Alps seems to be on the way to Cime de la Bonette (2860m)
tut tut ... anyway, I clean forgot to put up my Millau bridge shot (Steve's reminded me)
also this one of the D3 hiding in the Lavender field
