2 Key issues - Washed one smart key and 2nd has low battery
So couldn't find the Smart-key this morning, then realized it was still in my jeans pocket, which had just gone through a whole cycle in the washing machine
Amazingly, it cam out fine and works perfectly (Keyless or button pressing)
My question is, should I do something to it, such as take it apart and let it dry for a few days or carry on as normal?
2nd issue, when I was in the middle of my panic, I dug the spare one out (Which is stored in a anti theft box, sorry wrapped in kitchen foil in a kitchen drawer) and went to use it, worked fine, but low battery warning came up, my old D3 was charged through the key usage in the lock, do I just replace the battery? (And if yes how?)
Cheers in advance, and looking forward to your kind comments about my 'Key washing' incident Iggy/Ieuan

Muppet! Or is further training required elsewhere.....?
First change battery in flat one it's a standard 2032 or maybe 2 of them and make sure it works.
Then take the battery(S) out the other one and blow any water out and let it dry Stew,
2010 D4 gone but I really loved it

Being a sparky for many decades, I can tell you there are plenty of examples of electronics having been wet, appearing to work fine upon first drying them out, then dying slowly as 'verdigris' (copper going green and skanky) before finally dying
I don't know if you have ever looked at the health warning on washing machine powders and liquids (keep away from children being the most important) but it is pretty evil stuff. Bordering on caustic. Aggressive in many senses of the word. Plus 40 degs C for good measure
Battery up the spare and keep that close for now. Don't rely on the other one just yet.
The Bogey Man may yet get it
Good luck."Track day running - Don't put your foot back on the accelerator until your absolutely sure you don't have to take it off again"

A recent post on a D3 suggested taping the keys together so the spare gets some charge in it. Not sure if D4 charges in use as well?

Ok new battery in spare key, now main key
Former main key taken apart, no moisture inside at all, but cleaned with alcohol and cotton buds. Going to leave apart and in a warm place for a few days then try it out with a new battery Iggy/Ieuan

New battery in the 'washed' one, and so far working perfectly
I'm going to continue to use the spare for a few weeks, before trying the 'washed' one again to be on the safe side
I may have got away with the washing Iggy/Ieuan
