Upgrade to the PTI fits in with what my local dealer was saying the other day in that LR/nokia were not going to expand their range of cradles but instead were relying on using bluetooth for phone connectivity. does seem to make the shark fin redundant. 2007 TDV6 XS Cairns Blue

This is surely a backward step. In my area, signal strength is iffy. When I use the phone connected via Bluetooth I cannot get a decent signal. With the phone sat in it's cradle, I get a full signal more often than not. More important for me however, is the enhanced functionality. The Nokia 6230 has been in the cradle for 15 months, I never charge it, never turn it off. It is part of the car. Earlier posts talk about pooling minutes and accessing those minutes with more than one phone. This is something I would like to pursue. Like others, I divert my incoming calls from my Nokia 6280 to the old Nokia 6230 ( an expensive way ). I think I am right in saying that some Porshce models allow you to put a SIM card into a slot which is part of the car?
If it's easy to setup two phones on one account, and Land Rover could fit a SIM slot then this would surely be a better way. TDV6 SE auto, Java / Alpacca

If you can use the BT phone in "Remote SIM" Mode, then it will use the car aeriel which means the signal should be as good as if you had it in a cradle. Bodsys Brake Bible

Isn't 2008 LR's 60th birthday? Doubtless we'll see a D3 with gaudy paintwork too, like the aquamarine finish that they splashed on a load of vehicles in 1998. No longer a D3 owner but still subscribed to multiple threads!
