Quoted by Guy Salmon Thames Ditton. The car has 78k miles and a FLRSH. Seems excessive. Any advice re independents near Kingston upon Thames really appreciated.

7 year service includes cam belt and pump belt(wore tricky than D3 pump belt) so pretty expensive. You could shave a couple of hundred off that price at an indi. Stu

Cheers Stu. The dealer said it would be a 6yr 96yk miles and would not include the belts which would be the 2020 service.

Ahh, is yours a late 2012 then (62) A’s I just added 7 years on to 12 and came up with 19.
Not too sure what 6 year service entails. Stu

6 year service is a B service, with brake flexi pipes and brake fluid change as additional extras, not normally included in the price
If they are included, it's quite well priced for a main dealer
If, as I expect, it doesn't include them, then an Indy will reduce that quote by nearly £500  My D3 Build Thread

Used GS Thames Ditton for over 10 years with Jag and Discos.
Wouldn’t touch them again. Emphasis now on how much not how good! Took nearly a year to sort out my stop/start and then they wanted to charge me despite warranty. Level of expertise is woeful.
I’d get a quote from Wimbledon Land Rover, I have used them for a couple of years now and am extremely pleased all round. They are not far from you and are an authorised LR Service Centre.
Shame about GS as there are/were some nice folk there.

Great tip about Wimbledon LR. 96k 6yr service and MoT £610 vs GSTD £832.

That’s spendy think mine last year was £560? Main dealer price. Defo never changed brake pipes for that?!

Thanks for all the advice Wimbledon LR couldn't have been more helpful. £264 price difference on the 6yr and £486 difference on the 7yr service between them and GSTD. £99 v £165 per hour labour rate yet both are main dealers and less than 2miles from my home.

Just picked mine up from Wimbledon LR after service and MoT. Usual high standard and friendliness and Michael waited on for me as late getting there and don't have lots of time to collect it tomorrow.
They are an Authorised Service Centre, not Main Dealer which means that they do everything except sell vehicles.
