From the press release made by JLR, does this mean that the new digital T.V will be standard on MY13 or still an optional extra?

Umbertob, You're wrong mate. The lever is NOT standard "issue" anymore. Unless it a commercial I believe, which still has the TDV6 six speed and there fore the lever. Any 3.0 ZF8 speed gets the rotary knob mate. My17 Volvo XC90 Inscription

Dude, you'll just have to trust me on this one. The gear shifter is still very much standard issue on PETROL engined LR4s in North America. There isn't a single diesel engined Disco/LR4 here, whether 2.7, 3.0, commercial or otherwise, nor one equipped with a 8-speed ZF transmission. All we get here is the 5-liter petrol/gas guzzler with a 6-speed ZF 6HP28 transmission and the "old", leather covered lever to shift gears. I am well aware that Land Rover switched to the Jaguar-like rotary knob and 8-speed transmission on its newer diesel engined Discos elsewhere in the world since over a year ago, but that's just not the case here in North America.Umberto B

Umbertob, don't sweat it as we all understand you loud and clear - Steve must be having a senior moment and no doubt he has his cursor hovering over the emoticon.

You believe wrong - Commercial now comes with the 8 speed in both 210bhp and 255bhp versions.

why not purchase a European model and import into USA, you'll have one of a kind and everybody will be talking about you........
talking good or bad I'm not sure of though Experience is a difficult teacher, because she gives the test first and then the lesson afterwards!!!!

And here in California the "emission police" would likely dump that Disco right off the barge into the harbor, not letting it even touch dry land.
I find the lack of paddle availability here in NA annoying. In fact I don't see a lot of changes for 2013 from my 2010 and makes me think I should wait another year.

I wouldn't expect much in the way of changes and improvements until the next generation, lightweight Disco is introduced, possibly in late 2014 as a MY15 model if the rumors are correct. Other than throwing some more leather, new wheels and other small cosmetic touches at it, I don't see why LR would want to spend any more R&D energies on the current, aging platform that's due for a complete overhaul real soon (RRS and Disco/LR4.)Umberto B
