Black smoke under load 2006 D3

OK! ... Don't shout I have searched the forum and I cannot find the answer so I am trying the direct approach.
My disco pours black smoke under load say full throttle up hill when the rest of the time its quite well behaved, now I know you will say its intercooler related but all is well in that area with a thorough check being done by my local garage and no leaks whatsoever being found ... pipes or intercooler.

The question to you learned chaps is what is the problem?

There are no warning lights or fault codes on my dash, would it be egr valves and should I blank them anyway?

Thanks in advance.

If you have had a service done recently check the oil level for overfilling.

Thanks Guy's! ..... It's not the overfill of oil as my disco has done this for a while either side of a service and the map sensor was checked by the garage and myself and we were surprised to find it clean!

Now the turbo actuator arm is interesting .... She is in for a couple of new steel brake pipes found lacking on todays MOT so I will get the deerstalker and magnifying glass out and let you know the result..... Thanks to all.

MAF or map sensor can cause this, you need to get the live values looked at.
Double check for any oily residue around the engine as the split can often only be seen when on boost.

There is no oil anywhere to suggest a fault, perhaps I do need to get it plugged in!
