Hmmmm, a 3,0, it begins to make sense, even for a petrolhead as me!
Seems I'll have to test drive it, but not before the V8 and a P38, just in case Mr. Green

Not wishing to pee on anyone's chips, but why would LR source a perfectly good dual-turbo engine from Jaguar, spend a fortune stripping out one of the turbos and making it bomb-proof, and then release an 'enhanced' version of said engine with the 2nd turbo bolted back on and a mild increase in capacity?

Then again, maybe that's why Ford are so cash-strapped. They did allow Volvo to build their own 4.4 V8 when both Jaguar and LR already have one.

LR don't get the engine from Jaguar.

Ford build the engine. Ford supply Jaguar and Land Rover. And Peugeot too, for that matter.

Same with the V8 - Ford built, supplied to PAG (Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover). Ford even supply Aston Martin's engines.......

I thought PSA built the engines, which were designed in collaboration with FoMoCo?

And that Yamaha built the 4.4l for Volvo.

I do agree that the 4.0/4.4/4.2 SuperCharged are Ford engines though.

Volvo are slightly different in that they don't take the Ford V8 - this is due to their safety requirements (engine gets pushed down and under rather than back into the car in the event of a crash). Ford's V8 doesn't suit this, but other Ford engines are supplied to Volvo (Si6 from Bridgend and I4 from Valencia). TDV6 is built at Dagenham - designed with PSA, supplied to Jaguar, Land Rover and PSA. Aston engines are built in Germany.
