3 Days on.....

Well I am a happy man.

Pickup on Friday, what a pleasant experience down at Marshalls of Peterborough. Average 30mpg on way home.

Saturday, take to Manchester to have 3M Paint Protection Film applied to front of car, they mostly do Astons, Lambos and Ferraris, so had to slum it on my D3, anyway good to watch professionals at work. Average 29.7mpg for round trip.

Sunday, enjoyed fine weather by taking my time fitting side steps sourced from Yeovil. A case of easy once you've done it Rolling Eyes Being of modest stature the side steps are welcome Smile and will hopefully save wear and tear on the leather. Then used vast boot to clear garage by doing a tip run, now just a matter of time before both cars can be stabled overnight.

Spent rest of time playing with settings and reading up on all the goodies.

Will spend the next couple of evenings getting a good coating of Waxoyl around the underneath whilst her underskirts are so clean, to keep the blessed salt at bay. Has anyone seen how poorly protected she is under there. This is definitely not Audi territory.

Anyway, am very pleased with her so far. Taking her on family holiday next week so we should really feel the benefit of all that space!!

Good to hear you were happy with Marshalls. Do you know if they updated the software as part of the PDI?

Would not be able to show pics of something that is transparent..

The pieces I had fitted were all template marked and cut by a plotter machine. You can have custom pieces but they are hand cut so the clean finish of edges may vary.

you should be able to see the line that goes accross the bonnet especially when you give the car a polish.

one of the 4dw magazines had something in it a while ago
about a protective cover you paint brush on your car
and it protects the paintwork for six weeks or so
it doesnt like heavy rain though
when your finished your trip you wash it off with the hose

Wouldn't be without it, especially on a black D3.

Hi Simon. Did your phone work as advertised in its cradle?
Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills Smile

No worries Cat. I did have a similar product on my HSV (VX) R8 Clubbie, but it was not as "invisible". Make sure you get the 3M film, I did a fair bit of research & IMO it's the best.
