Any 4.4 petrol owners in the UK? |
|
How common is the 4.4 in the UK? Almost all the posts seem to mention the diesel. With your fuel prices it is obvious why. I would love to have the diesel option here and have a couple of questions:
How does the diesel perform?. OK for day to day? Highway performance? What sort of fuel economy do you get?
It seems like the diesel has a lot more maintainence issues than the 4.4. Is maintainence costly?

It's no sports car, but acceleration matches my missus MY10 A3 1.6TDi so you can live with it!
30MPG normally, dropping to 25 if I'm clearing the turbo out!
Reliability is not so good, but then that comes with turbocharged, emissions managed cars I think! 2014 D4 XS

These are imperial gallons correct? Not the wussy small USA ones?
30 miles per gallon.
1 imp gallon = 4.55L
1 mile = 1.6 kms
30 mpg = 9.5L/100km Not bad!
In urban driving my 7 seat HSE is getting around 15L/100km. Straight highway I can get this down to 12L/100km.
I do love that 4.4 V8 though. Jaguar may have had their issues but they could build one hell of a smooth V8.

Yep, the gallons we measure our beer by!
I did consider the V8 when I was looking, but they weren't much cheaper than the TDV6!
Wouldn't have needed a new turbo though!
do love the v8 growl! 2014 D4 XS
