45k service Wednesday

Should be routine, 1 fault to be fixed - false low coolant warnings, but nothing else to report really 8)

I do hope they don't mind giving it a good wash, Its not been cleaned for weeks Embarassed

And for those that are interested, there has been no service indicator to remind me. Mileage now 45050 miles.

Got my D3's 45000 service done when the car had 46188 had no service indicator either.
In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

conversely, I had the service indicator show and I'm not even past 5,000 (Wife's car) - perhaps it's working on a short trip counter along with a calendar (car just 11m from new), not just odometer?

£348 inc vat. Washed (not very well).

Seems to drive well, and I think it is quieter. Advised me that front pads and discs are not going to last until next service.

Needs a replacement coolant reservoir, no stock and will be called when its arrived.

Interesting observation. For the past couple of weeks I have been getting a second 'bong' after the engine starts, but no error indication. The only thing I noticed was the oil pressure warning went out at the exact same time as the second bong. I wonder if it is another undocumented feature that coincides with service time, or if it is a warning that the oil filter is getting clogged or something.

Anyway, its stopped doing it now and the Oil warning extinguishes immediately. Another reason maybe to switch to 7500 oil and filter change perhaps? 15000 is obviously marginal if the filter is starting to clog.

Always seems to drive smoother and quieter to me after an oil and filter change which is why I get it done every 7500, tempted to go to the recommended arduos use interval of every 3750 but I'll start doing it myself then rather than paying a dealer
