On all 4's ??
Quick question to those who know better than me
Has anyone used 4 axle stands to get the whole car off the ground ?? Not sure how to prevent a possible 'topple' whilst getting it up onto the 2nd set and whether to do it front-rear (so to speak ) or side to side.

I've done it, I put the front up, then the back.
You just need to be careful how you jack it up, and make sure you have the heaviest axle stands at the front I used 6t front and 4t rear. Bodsys Brake Bible

Never done it with a D3 and (of course) it's frowned upon in many manuals due to the risk.
Anyway, I was 'taught' to do it by raising both front wheels at the same time and inserting the stands, then repeating for the rear. In this way the moment is correct on the axel stands to help avoid a topple.
The front 'middle' jacking point is easy to get to with most trolley jacks but the middle rear is more interesting.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
