54 plate HSE with HK Logic 7 - unusual?

Hi all,

Apologies as I have already touched upon my issue in a previous thread. However, the situation has now become worse with the inclusion of Halfords.

My wife (as a romantic gesture) bought me a £50 Halfords gift voucher; she bought it specifically as she could see they sold SOT harnesses and figured that they would be able to stop my incessant moaning about not being able to find the correct one.

CT10LR02 - Tried and didn't fit.

CT10LR03 (£50): Range Rover Sport with Logic 7.
Right, despite boring the 'expert at Halfords with my story so far, my vehicle reg and that even though he said the Logic 7 wasn't fitted until 2007, it was definitely installed in my 54 plate Disco. I invited him to come and see for himself but he declined. Anyhow, he ordered the aforementioned harness and also had a chat with the CT rep who thought my vehicle must have been part of a small run which trialled the Logic 7 early on. I'm reserving judgement on this.
So after taking my dash apart for the second time, and with a £50 non-exchangable Halfords gift voucher, I find this doesn't fit either. Am I missing something? Does anyone else have plugs etc like this? Do I have an oddball vehicle? Incidentally, I have a 'nav not available' error message so extra points if you notice anything fishy which could have lead go that (yes the unit and disc are both present).

Cheers, Sam

Hi, Just to clarify I have a 54 plate Discovery 3 HSE - apparently this was the lead needed. Have you used a harness on yours yet?

I've previously looked under the seat at the leads and they all seemed ok. Could it be something as simple as a fuse?

Cheers, Sam

When you say 'normal, normal for what? Disco 3s in general or the HK Logic 7? - Apparently they vary in round pins and flat pins, the bog standard system, the HK 'Premium and the HK Logic 7 - apparently the latter isn't coming up as having ever been an option on my year vehicle.

Still wishing to fit my Parrot MKi9200

What is the lead for exactly i havent used any also if you can eject the disc if it's even in there from the dvd its not the fuse but more than likely the dvd optic reader Thumbs Up

Normal for HK.
I think all D3 had the same type of pins.

If the parrot won't power up, you need to connect the ignition wire to the back of the cigar lighter. Common issue on here.

Other issues with lack of sound, you are best off returning the SOT, you need 3 pins to go into the back of the small headunit connector. (the one with the red and blue wires)
AUdio out - +
and mute

Do you have a picture of the SOT you purchased?

It's to try and install my old Parrot MKi9200

I've managed to eject and insert the DVD although it seems to be more of a spron-loaded system than powered from what I remember. I considered the optical reader but thought that prompted a different error message?

Sadly I can't even figure out how or where the leads are supposed to fit on the car side - nothing seems to marry up. The photos in the original post show all I have to play with circled in yellow.

Pics below

No, the other one was returned - that was supposedly for the (only) HK option for my year Disco 3 HSE. It was only from chatting with the Halfords guy / Connect 2 rep that they conceded it was possible for the Logic 7 to be in a 54 plate. Can you see what I mean about the plugs not fitting?

Assuming I decoded correctly what 54 plate means - so second half of 2005 - it’s possible for it to have Logic 7 as mine is manufactured around that time.

Also, I thought the difference between HK (hi-line) and HKL7 (premium) was the amplifier and cabling towards the speakers from the amp as there are more speakers in the latter. HK amp is silver, HKL7 amp is black. The 6CD-465 stereo should have been the same on both.

My old D3 my54 had HK logic fitted, I fitted the same parrot as you are trying to fit without using a SOT cable, it lasted a few weeks before I took it out and fitted a D4 module, 10 times better and far easier to fit than the Parrot, IMHO it works better and is easier to operate than in a D4.
My advice is scrap it and fit a D4 module, you only need a most cable as you have the HSE, takes 1/2 hour to fit Thumbs Up
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
