55 plate HSE 2.7d Easy to sell?
Afternoon,
The lease is nearly up on our D3 and we have to make the decision as to what we are going to do.
Speaking to SWMBO, the D4 is the option that looks best.
So our D3 is an HSE with 75,000 in Java Black with Alpaca leather will be going.
What is the market like at the moment. Anyone sold a similar car recently and if so did it go quickly and how much haggling did you have on price.

Depends what you price it at.
I've just brought an 05 HSE with FLSH & 68,000 on clock from a dealer with warranty etc for £16,500
I was looking at a few on web from dealers, advertised at anywhere between £16,999 to over £18,000 all HSE with similar mileage.
Hasten to say the lower priced ones where not around for long and the £18,000+ ones are still available.
Good luck...

I bought a 55 Plate HSE Black / Alpaca with 42k miles last January for 22k from a LR main dealer. It has done 52k now, Full LR history, LR extended warranty for 15 months, just been serviced, 4 new GGAT tyres, full suspension rebuild under warranty 6 months tax etc etc. I dread to think what is is worth now, optimistically 18.5 -19k if I were to wait....2006 TDV6 HSE

I have bought a 05 hse with 53k on it full LR service history and 9 mths select warranty for 15900. Sold to previous owner by LR dealer for 19.5 k three months earlier. They had spent 3k on it pre sale as well. Just shows difference between places and that's just on the same car.

I bought my 05 D3 HSE from a local garage in July. Mileage was a bit high at 113K but LR service history and immaculate condition made the £13995 and a decent trade in on my TD4 a reasonable buy..........so far!

Thanks for the ideas guys. Must say that the finance compnay has done very well projecting what the current value would be when setting the balloon payment.
Prices quoted look right so will start advertising it then...
Thanks for the info and looking forward to D4 ownership, if we can find the right one for the right price...LOL

well funnily enough, not a lot, lets just say the starting price was £21,500.... in Jan 2009
still one on the LR Used list today, same age as mine, same mileage as mine for £2K more than that.
Pretty much free motoring (ignoring fuel, and insurance and road tax etc ) - and it passed its 2nd MOT with not a squeak this morning too!
Sometime it pays to stick with just one or two D3's my man, not the 6, 7 (or is it 8 now) you've been through in the same period Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

I have stuck with mine and even after the 4,800 k it has cost me so far in repairs (excluding services and wear n tear as I would have had these on any vehicle I am sure!), I still own a vehicle that is worth more than the balloon payment I should have made in September.
I just opted to keep it while I wait for the D4 to come down a bit in price
