Decided to visit the local Land Rover dealer on 24th March........(just for a look so the wife thought) and six days later on 30th March a gleaming Java Black (Pursuit LE) was sat on the drive.
Just over one week and 600 Miles later....I am still smiling.
Only trouble at the moment is with three kids it always a chore as to who is sitting in the seets 6 & 7.
Tried programing the remote to do the suspension and now it wont do anything...have to let the dealer sort it.
Do Discovery's use much oil.....Dealer told me to check it around every fill up

Congratulations! Long may the permagrin continue; mine's starting to ache, but I still can't shift it!
Don't forget that to alter the suspension from the keyfob, the hazard lights need to be on and all the doors closed...
Mine used no oil at all, except for between 600 and 700 miles (I think) where it used 1/4 litre. None since though. Dr. Ian Malcolm:
"Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."
Transgenic tomato anyone?

MY07 has used no oil at 2K - despite several nervous looks at the dipstick. Now diesel, that is another matter!

I've done 24k miles in a so called oil burning 06 model and only used 0.5litres in that time. Not an issue after the initial run-in period. I wouldn't be lifting the bonnet to check every fill up in the forecourt.

I've driven 3k in mine and had to have 1/2 a litre taken out by the dealer where they overfilled it. I was told by a Turbochip chappie that the graphite block absorbs some oil initially and it can drink a bit first off.
As for who needs an HSE, I do.
I like the toys so paid the premium, and I'm more than happy with the result.

The diesel will suddenly use oil as the block absorbs it so just keep an eye on it for a while. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
