Able to run a car but not able to buy a hands free kit ????
I really hate those people who use their very essential mobile phones while driving and can't be arsed to buy a simple cheap handsfree kit... a tenner to save a life FFS
At the weekend on the A1(M) I saw a red W-reg Suzuki Jimny all over the road with some bloke deep in conversation on his mobile, ignoring everything going on around him.

I agree, but for me the worst culprits are those in more 'expensive' motors. Had a bloke in a Q7 nearly drive into the side of my truck as he was too busy with one hand on holding the phone to his ear and the other trying to steer....
Surely at the price for these buses, an integrated bluetooth is standard fit........
There is no excuse....

No, the worst culprits are the professional drivers, who drive lorries and buses, and think its ok to send text messages, and talk on the phone whilst they drive. I see loads of them every day.

You would think that they would learn from others mis-fortune. Wasn't there a person not so long ago sent down because of an accident he caused and killed someone, it was proven that he had been texting just before the accident, although not during the incident.POT NOODLE NAVIGATION CHALLENGE 2010 WINNER

Me too. Negotiating our village while yabbing on the phone and then locking up on the zebra is not cool.
As you say, a tenner for a hands-free. Anyone who relies on their licence for a living (and that's most people working more than a few miles from their front door) is treading on thin ice using a mobile on the move. Quite apart from the specific offences that have been created, there are other more generic motoring charges that can be laid at the door of people who aren't paying attention.
Legal situation aside, the shame of driving a hairdressers' car you would have to live with if you had an accident? I couldn't live with myself.
Love the idea that someone with a Jimny has enough going on in their life that they need to be on the mobile while driving. Imagine the conversation: Beans or egg with the chips tonight love?I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Yep thats the bloke, didn't know that he was freed on appeal though.
