On a D3 diagram the wiring for the corner lights is in a seperate page called Cornering lights. They use the same thick red wire going from the CJB to pin 4 of the headlights though
yes your understanding of the wiring diagrams for the corner lighting is correct.
However, i may have some very good news for you that is worth knowing / checking. When i did my retrofit of AFS on my super low spec 05 D3 which started with non Xenon headlights, i added wires to my new loom for this, but was very surprized when i got my healights out and came to add the new wiring that the wiring for the Corner lights was actually already fitted
Check this picture and you will see the Red wire on the left

in fact if you look very closely at this picture, just to the left of where the wire bundle comes out from the ribbed covering you can actually just see the no longer needed Green coloured cable i had added looped back into the covering.

Intresting this is, I have been lookin for what pin number are ment for cornering laps, but I could not spot it until now. Pin 4 on both headlamp connectors and 3 Gnd wires are present in the main wiring harness. But i have no connector in pin 4 the headlamps on mine. What is this pin 16 for Gnd for the cornering lamps? I do not have that eighter, but a ground distro is close to the headlamps. I have the pins that will fit, both male and female. looking in the headlamp, where the park bulb is, there should be a cutout for the cornering bulb, but its nothing there.
So what are my options? I do not want to replace the headlamps yet, as they are xenons but non adaptive. If i get a good prize on 2.nd hand adaptive with cornering lamps, that would be the best option.
