2 x 10 litres at £17.49 delivered:

Status Adblue 2 x 10 Litre with Pouring Spouts 20 L https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07SH1CRNG/ref...eFbZ3Y8E72

I like the idea of buying it at a pump and will do that when Covid’s past and I’m happy to pay the cashier again, rather than pay at the pump 👍

I would buy on quality not on price, have seen loads of issues with the trucks because of dodgy adblue.
They use roughly 10 percent of the fuel burnt in adblue.

We normally keep some drums as back up in case main pump dies, and suppler says use by 6 months or dispose of, though thinking about it I have not seen them for some time so they might have given up on the backup idea.

So talking of how much is used cf fuel, how much would a “normal” car use for, say, motorway cruising? Skippy had done 775 miles, virtually all motorway, and the AB range hadn’t changed. That’s about 67l of diesel and he has a 12l AB tank so expected some movement.

It’s only going in a D5, so it’s not that critical Wink

Think we get roughly 10k miles between fills of usually just over 10ltr in our Q3 2.0Tdi 150
D4 just about does 16k between fills - ie don't normally need to fill between services. It was on a service plan where adblue is included, so don't know how much they actually filled with, and nowadays it just gets whatever is left from the Q3's second can.

Shorter answer ... both do about 1000miles / ltr
Long succession of Disco's since 2001...
SIII Lightweight - neglected & rusting. Bulkhead, A panels, vent panel & outriggers now disintegrated - Next years project!

The twin turbo 3.0 D5 is telling me that it will stop if I don’t fill it up with DEF by the time it’s done 9,100 miles.

Smile

It’s also being run on supermarket diesel. I only use Shell diesel for the SDV8.
