I'm just looking through my finance and how longs left etc..
Now if I was a private buyer looking at a used D3 from a dealer, should I pay VAT....

There should only be vat payable on a used commercial so long as the seller is vat registered
There may be other special cases where vat would be paid like it has been a pool car or belonged to the government but you wouldn't be able to claim the vat back on these if you were vat registered unless you had some special conditions determining use there are not many loopholes left regarding vat on a passenger car
