AFS Pointing down.

I have read the Forum about AFS, but I do not find any help, it can be that I am too stupid.
I have also looked att RRS-forum but I try to post my problem here as well.

I have a RRS 2005 SC and noticed that my left headlamp was very high and my right was maximum down. No warning on the instrument panel. At start up I could see that only the left light was moving L/R and during driving the right light on the road infront of me was following my steering/cornering.

I took out the the big lamphousing and tryed to see if anything was wrong inside and cleaned the el-contact, on both sides.
After that I had the yellow warning flashing on the dash. But no change to the lamps.

I put my IID-tool in and found 2 faults on headlight:
B1A57-01 (AF) Left headlamp levelling motor - General failure information - general electrical failure.
U1A39-87 (AF) Communication malfunction of right actuator - Bus signal/message failure - missing a message

When I cleared the faults I saw my left light went down to max low.
Now my both lights are stuck in low pos.
I have both faults now but I can clear the left but it comes back. For the right side the fault is permanent.

I t is a problem during darkness as I have only 10meters of light in front of the RRS.

I donĀ“t know where to continue searching for the problem. Big Cry

I have had this exact problem. You need to check the wiring behind the right hand headlamp.

On mine there is a plastic reinforcement inside the tape wrapped loom. On my D4 the plastic had cut into the wires and snapped about 3 wires. I rejoined them and problem was cured.

I took out the lamp unit and checked visually the pinconector and the wiring nearest the connector.
There was a grey kabel tucked in under the tape and plastic, same on right and left side so it is OK as I can assume.
But when I put all back the right main light did not work.
I put my fingers behind and moved around among the kabels behind the contact and the light came on.

There my be a bad connection in pin contact on some other wires as well and my problem can be there.
I have not opened and checked. Is it possible?

After some more fiddling with the wiring and the socket the problem with the right headlamp was solved.

The left side has had the problem with leveling motor and then also swiveling feedback sensor circuit.
We tried a complete lamp unit from my friends RRS in my car and then everything worked OK.

I found a used Lamp unit at a scrapyard in Sweden and installed it.
Now it is back to normal and no faults.

Tanks for support.
