Dose anyone know what is ment buy stage 1 deployment fault?

Not really, but I think that multi-stage deployment is to do with inflating the airbag(s) by different amounts/pressures depending on the severity of the crash (speed/angle and occupant weight etc)....
I didn't know that the D3 had this type of system though  I'll try and do some investigating.  2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

Thinking about it, when I removed my driver side airbag to change the steering wheel, there were two electrical connectors.
This must be for dual stage deployment - stage 1 for moderate impacts and stage 2 for big 'uns.
I guess the passenger airbag works the same, but I think that the curtain/seat airbags are just single stage systems.
