Air Con.... Strange noise, big missfire! |
|
I was sitting in the supermarket car park with the D3 running and air con on. All of a sudden the engine gave a jolt like a major missfire then returned back to normal. I continued to sit listening for a while longer and all seemed well until i noticed the car getting warmer inside. The air con had stopped working. Can pumps/condensers just pack in like that?
Not looking forward to fitting another one.
Has anyone had something similar and found it was something simple?
Cheers

Thanks for your reply.
Do you think it will be ok to keep using the Land Rover as it is or is there a chance it will throw a belt? Just how much of a headache is it to change out the compressor?
Cheers

Usually it breaks the pulley clutch internally so it will no longer engage the compressor so you should be ok to use it.
