Got them in my Jaguar xfs. Absolutely brilliant in hot weather once the sensation that you’ve wet yourself wears off😯.

My 2003 AMG has heated and cooled front and rear seats! Think they were introduced late 90's/early 00's.

I think the seat cooling is fabulous and would be willing to spend a bit of time mackling it in if the basics had been available. I’m not prepared to turn it into an experiment though. Thanks for the replies.Discovery 3 tdv6 HSE 2007

Saab had cooled seats at least on 9-5 early 2000ish.

I have air conditioned seats in my old 2004 W12 phaeton so theyve been about for a while.

I had a couple of Saab 9-5 Aero estates. They were great cars. I had both good spec but neither was fitted with air con seats.Discovery 3 tdv6 HSE 2007

A friend has a 2003 9-5 Aero station wagon with close to 500k km on it. It’s officially been ethanol converted. He’s had it from new. The car seems to last forever.
On my Mercedes SL, it has the “cooling seats” option. All this amounts to is an “extractor fan” built into the seat back, and perforated upholstery. It does tend to stop the “shirt sticking to your back” syndrome, but they don’t work that well as your body tends to block the ventilation holes.
I stand to be corrected, but I don’t think anyone makes car seats which are truly “air conditioned”. A similar comment applies to the claims for glove boxes- they are normally slightly cooled by creating an air flow.
