Air Jack Blocking Cone

I bought an x-jack over here across the pond and was very displeased to find that there was no blocking cone. Thus it does not work. I am told ARB has no present plans to sell one. For those of you with various types of air jacks, can you suggest something else to use as I have not been able to find one over here and I think the shipping from there would be quite costly.

Thanks,
David

David,

I emailed this UK company www.air-jack.com a while back and they said they would sell their blocking cone separately.

Give them a try.

Any other suggestions?

Neither David nor I have had success with getting a response from the UK company (www.air-jack.com). David has returned his xjack and I may have to do the same. It simply doesn't work. Any suggestions before I have to return my new toy?

Wow - now that is customer service

I took a shot at contacting www.air-jack.com. I would think twice before doing business with this company....Here are the details of my email conversation (edited to remove spacing, indents and email address)

From: "David Olley" <sales>

Thanks for your brief comments, Mike. Pity you don't give phone numbers and
details of where you are, as most do in polite communications.

I do not receive a salary for working - I earn it based on my sales since I
own the company. I therefore am very personally involved in the sales and
do, in fact, take my responsibilities very seriously.

My competitors in the USA tend to sell product imported from China. One US
company recently set up selling Chinese Jacks and put up a web site that
contained images taken from my site, together with the video that was also
there. I do not think highly of other Air Jack sellers, and will continue to
assume that yours is a 'cheap' jack, since you have not stated otherwise. I
have been in this business for 20 years and believe that I know what I am
talking about. As a grown-up I tend to speak very directly and say what I
mean. This upsets many. Shame. Life for me will go on, however.

I really do find it incredible that people who have bought a premium quality
vehicle at a high price seem unable to afford to pay a decent price for
other essential bits of kit. If they are so interested in buying at low
price, why buy a Disco3 when a Korean 4x4 would do a similar job at a much
lower price?

I DO know the answer to that retorical question, of course!

The market for Air Jacks among private users is very small in the UK and I
sell more to Government institutions and Military here and abroad (including
the USA). I do not actively seek private buyers because they are a lot more
trouble than they are worth, taking up a lot of time with silly questions.

There you have it. I sell Air Jacks and air jack accessories, not air jack
accessories.

Let's set the record straight.

I attempted to contact you via email a few weeks ago for a quote on your
jack - no reply was received. <<I don't find that being very helpful to
your future customers>>

Then through the disco3.co.uk website I came across a post that suggested
you may be selling the blocking cone as a stand alone item.

You should not assume the jack I purchased was 'cheap'. If you don't sell
the blocking cone as a stand alone item then just say so. I do not
appreciate being scolded for asking if you sell an item or not. < purpose' item if it did not include a blocking cone.

Wow - interesting fellow. I wonder how many sales he loses from his email communication manner.
