Air operated freespool lever from Goodwinch.

Planning a hidden winch installation using Ray's mount,

Came over this on David's web site.

http://www.dborc.co.uk/goodwinch/pdf/air_freespool.pdf

Has anybody tried it ? where would I source air from ? a little portable compressor ? or could I tap into the suspension compressor?

Glen

Ive seen one for a warn but they are wicked expensive like 400+ dollars. Most serious offroaders have air lockers so I guess most of them would just take thier air supply of of that system. Not sure on the D3 what you would do maybe make a little air tank out of some lage diameter pvc and use a small 12v compressor.
Sceen name use to be "wantsanlr3"

You can reach the freespool lever just fine with RLD's mount Thumbs Up

(with a Superwinch EP9 or TDSC9.5 winch anyway)

Well there's some money saved Very Happy

Propably going for the TDS 12000 model as Andrew has written that the Warn XP kan struggle.

The 12000 has the same dimensions as the 9500, but is a little slower, but I can live with that.

Try this - &NR=1
I think you will find the superwinch 12000 is the same as the featured winch.
I rotated my gearbox towards the front, worked a treat (albiet with a Rasta hidden mount, not RLD's)
