Air suspension issue exhaust valve
Hi all
My disco 3 goes into suspension fault often but turning ignition off and on and all works normal again
I’ve taken it to local garage and it reads the following fault code
Easy fix? Garage isn’t a specialist but he thinks it loses the pressure to lower too quick

Likely a sticking exh valve, assuming yours is still a Hitachi compressor you could opt to rebuild the compressor whilst sorting the exh valve (easy job)
Piston parts, dryer, filters, and other bits are available for peanuts. If its an AMK compressor there are some bits available too, but more tricky to repair the piston assy (not so easy) Desiccant, filters, etc cheap and available.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

I've just rebuilt my Hitachi compressor after my car wouldn't lower because of a fault. Partly to do with an iffy height sensor and then it ultimately needed a compressor rebuild. See the thread here https://disco3.co.uk/forum/suspension-prob...75698.html
I think my problem was that the beads had started to turned to dust and clogged the the filters limiting it's ability to exhaust air. I've got to say I was very impressed by the X8R kit.

Thanks guys
I’ve got it all jacked up so I’ll have a look later at what unit I have and then have a look for a rebuild kit
Will give me something to do this weekend

Ok don’t want to go much further but I’ve found no filters at all and can’t really strip it down any more??
Am I missing something?

Ok so you have an AMK and you should not need to dismantle any further except for the dryer.
The dryer containing the desiccant and filters is the black cylindrical unit! When reattaching to the head be sure the large black seal is sound, and there's no dirt or grit on the parts. Do not either scrape or sand the alloy mating surface as this has a anti corrosion coating. If you are doubtful about the large seal you can coat it in a very thin smear of silicone sealant to ensure a good seal.
The Hitachi filter kit and desiccant will fit the AMK with slight resizing of the filters IIIRC.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Bought the kit but to be honest I don’t think this has anything to do with my fault the filters are virtually brand new
The silica beads are slightly off coloured though? Not sure if that makes a difference

Fitted to the dryer!! You are only changing the desiccant and filters as you have the thing apart.
Clean and lubricate the valve and satisfy yourself it is working before reassembly.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Are you able to point out the exhaust valve? I can’t find it unless it’s the small rubber valve under the strainer looking thing
