Air suspension low at front. Relief valve checked |
|
Hi folks. Hoping you can help please.
Noticed recently the front of my car isn’t keen at all to raise. Sits lower than the rear.
I have read some / maybe all the threads related but they don’t quite fit my situation.
Ride is terrible, rear feels / looks ok. When driving it, it’s the the angle isn’t right as the bonnet usually looks like a flat dinner table to me, you’ll know what I mean lol.
I have stripped down and cleaned the fron crossover valve. There was a tiny bit of white powder on its
, but now it’s Totally clean. Unfortunately comleting this work didn’t not change symptoms at all. I also put a little silicone on the valve rings so everything sat nicely.
I have removed the fuse that levels the suss and at the moment it’s on a level surface. Expecting / hoping one corner to drop so I can replace a faulty bag. Just have the feeling that’s not going to happen though..
I read the bulletin about the routing issues on the other side to the valve so going to check that soon. Although having checked it doesn’t appear to be my vin range.
History is that the compressor was replaced a couple of years back so that reduces my suspicion that the material is breaking down / causing valve issues.
Hoping someone has some insight into next steps.
Many thanks
Paul
Doesn’t make sense, but I’m still an owner. On the plus side, just replaced lower steering shaft and guess what, it feels like I have power steering again! Another thanks to this site

Sorry just to add. I only cleaned the valve block internals as they looked fine, then the seal kit arrived the day after. Probably still end up fitting it at this rate.

There is icon for suspension fault with amber or red color
Is it displayed?
Is there any fault displayed in message center, e.g.: suspension fault, normal height only
?

If there is no code means overall it's fine, try to choose offroad mode, normal height and access mode
Are those working
If yes, is it instant or take time
if this is take times, means there's leagake between air storage and front rear vale and whole system in front
find the leakage with soapy water and replace the hose or relevant part as necessary

Bit of an update. Front still seems low compared to the back. On flat surface, didn’t have a tape to hand but basic measurement using clenched fist in between front and back arches back this up.
I’ve had the fuse out overnight, no drop (side to side I mean at front)
Could it be the central valve Bank not pushing enough pressure to the front and that air going into the back of the system? Not sure if this adds up but it’s all I can think of, ride still feels less plush, more harsh. Especially at front, anyone know where middle valve bank in and what the access is like? I guess it’d have to be on stands all around as middle Bank with no air would lower the lots onto its stops?
Thanks folks..

I think they are meant to be lower at front.
As long as front equal
And it doesn't rise like a Citroen in the morning don't worry

Unfortunately already been there. Compressor < 2 years old. This car has blessed me with the majority of common fault. It went a while back.
Cheers

Pete. Thanks. I could be being paranoid but the just doesn’t feel right. Much better than before I replaced from seals though.
