Airbag (steering wheel)

Have been tring to remove the steering wheel to fit new clockspring but cannot seem to get the airbag off, Have removed the 4x torx screws from the rear, Looking further into it these dont seem to hold the airbag on the wheel.

Check out Wiggs,

He posted a how to on You Tube that help me change my sterring wheel.

You'll need a specific tool but I managed to bend a coat hanger in order to complete the job. I dont think Wiggs disconnected the battery but I did just in case.

Hope this helps!

No screws .

Look at the side of the airbag and you will see a small slot.

With a piece of thin wire with a small hook on the end , insert into the slot and your looking to hook the release spring and pull outwards. This needs to be done both sides Thumbs Up

May be lucky and catch it straight away or it may take you a few minutes to get lucky.

No need to disconnect battery.

Hi Sopjas

Although Tawnyowl might be right in saying
Quote:
No need to disconnect battery
elsewhere on the forum it says disconnect the battery and wait 15 minutes before removing the airbag.

I assume you have read http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/use...upler1.jpg and your vehicle VIN does not fall in the effected range and you can thus not get Land Rover to cover it being replaced at a main dealer?

I am going to check if in the affected range but i am still not 100% if this is the problem, light comes on intermitently sometimes not showing for months.
