Alarm keeps going off (Very annoying)
Hi There
My alarm keeps going off when I lock the car with the key fob. While driving I sometimes get the "bonnet opn" message. Is there a quick fix for this. I feel like disengaging the bonnet sensor and fooling the vehicle in thinking that the bonnet is ALWAYS closed.
Has this happened to anyone before? What can be done?
Thanks

There is a bonnet open microswitch switch just below the driver's side (UK) bonnet catch. Just pull the connectors off the microswitch and join them together. That will temporarily cure your bonnet open message and you'll soon find out if it's the cause of your alarm sounding too
Edit: As you sit the vehicle, the switch is on the right-hand sideAndy

Sorry what side of the offside? We have right hand drive vehicles in SA. If I am sitting in the vehicle, is it the left hand side or the righthand side?2005 Discovery 3 V8 SE

I have disconnected the micro switch and bridged the connector with another piece of wire, there is no warning message on the dash with the bonnet actually open.
Will check if the alarm goes off now again.2005 Discovery 3 V8 SE
