Alternator and EPB fault lamps flashing |
|
About a minute after a cold start my alternator warning lamp will come on for a second, just the once, when I am doing 15 mph down our gravel track. This morning the EPB lamp joined in and flashed amber a couple of times too. (I had the EPB pads and drums replaced 6 months ago)
Is this a sign of my 6 year old battery needing replacing or does it sound more like a dodgy alternator?
Any thoughts/wisdom appreciated... 04 TDV6 SE Auto Vienna Green/Tundra Leather - LR side steps.

Sounds like battery on its way out, although could be alternator too given tha the alternator light shouldn't normally come on. Bodsys Brake Bible

Cheers Bodsy. Will give the battery a charge and see. Hope its the battery as thats cheaper and has to be near end of its life at 6 years anyway! 04 TDV6 SE Auto Vienna Green/Tundra Leather - LR side steps.

Sounds like water ingress to the connectors at the bottom of the 'A' pillar(s)

Thanks 10forcash.
Is this something I could check out and correct myself? Is the windscreen seal the usual culprit?
All advice appreciated.
