Coolant loss issues

I'm new to the group, yet I look quite regularly, as I have a d3, I have had coolant leak, and can't find where the hell it going, yet my drivers side footwell is wet, it all started to go wrong, when the right hand egr coolant pipe burst on me, and never been the same again, also, the heating on my side, is still nice and hot, yet, the passengers side barely warms up, is there a wizard on here, who can shed a bit of light, in what way to start to look please, oh, and there are some great money saving topics on this forum.... Bow down

Normally the difference in temperature is down to a blocked heater matrix, the coolant leak could be the oil cooler on top of the engine leaking into the V there is a lot of room around the oil cooler so you dont always see any drips.

If you’ve got a sunroof the drains are blocked and/or leaking. Thumbs Up
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Coolant outlet/oil cooler join on the top on the engine is worth checking as aja4x4 said, this bit specifically:

But really you need to pressure test the system. I spent ages looking for a leak on mine and got nowhere, then borrowed a pressure tester and found my leak in seconds. Proper kits are available, alternatively you can make your own with a spare reservoir cap and a bike pump.

I had a mystery coolant leak way back when I had my D3.

Have a look here:

In conclusion, it turned out to be the EGR cooler.

But I didn’t experience any dampness in the footwells.

Funnily enough that's exactly where I found my leak (having already replaced the pump and the water outlet mentioned above Mad) - nothing to see under the bonnet with the engine running, but as soon as I hooked up the pressure tester it was obvious.
