Alternators
Hi all.
i have just recently taken over my granddads D3. he has had it from new, its a 05 plate he has had three alternators . every time land rover has repaired the problem they have not given us a good reason to why this is happening.
Does anyone know to why this is happening

Welcome to he insanity Jack.
Battery knackered and taking the alternator with it would be my guess. But as a non techie, best wait on a knowledgeable answer.
PS Which LR dealer u using in Sunny Surrey??

As another non techie - maybe an over tensioned drive belt?
Just a thought.

Yep, not yet run in properly. If it improves a wee bit I'll be getting 50mpg cruising at 75 - 80mpg. Re fast driving, did a few ped to the met overtakes on the A9 and compared with my remapped D3 it's a rocket ship. Better keep an eye open for white vans in lay bys!
