Another fried Alternator
Nipping out yesterday with the boys from work for a jar at lunchtime, with all the heaters and heated screen noticed the charge (battery) light pop on
Got to the pub and yanked bonnet and had a slight burning smell. After liquid refreshment went back and drove back to work with light still on and thought of best place to take it. When came to restart it there wasn't any power to even open the doors!
A quick trip to Roean Landrover (after the AA man charged the battery) two hours later they had replaced it. Fantastic thy had one in stock and even better they could do it straightaway!
Would of had a go mesel but work wouldn't take to kindly to spanners and bits of car on car park.....
Moral of the story is that if the battery light comes on then get ome where that can fix it soonest without turning off!

At least you got a warning, when mine went it was dark, raining and cold. First thing I knew was the wipers slowing down and every light flashing and a full list of warning and errors being displayed as I was going round a roundabout.
Pulled into a side road and it died in the middle of the road. Of course the last thing I did was put it into Park and put the EPB on.
Recovery truck arrived nearly 2 hours later. No booster pack or cable as it was pure recovery wagon. Had to wait another hour for a van with a booster pack to arrive so we could get it out of Park and the EPB released.
How I laughed.
At least I got the alternator replaced on the extended warranty.D3 HSE Mole: Range Rover Classic Vogue LSE Badger: D1 200TDi Long Wheel Base (the prototype )

I had a new battery last year so hoping it hasn't done any damage.
Thing is I have a yellow top as well in the car (which I could of used) but took the jump leads out last week when going to the tip. It failed smoking nicely its got to be said....

Mine went last year, could smell it & the battery light came on, managed to get to my inlaws! RAC round & put battery on charge as was dead! Had the car recovered home, new alternator fitted & the batter never seemed to charge to full capacity!
So back to Halfords to exchange as they have a 5 year guaranty Worth considering if you need to replace a battery!
Something I started doing with my boats as you stand a better chance of being near a Halfords on a Sunday morning when other places are shut! Range Rover Sport Estate 2.0 P400e Hse Dynamic Black
