Has anyone found plain steel wheels to use for off-roading?

Has anyone found plain steel wheels to use for off-roading?

I know this is similar to finding the end of a rainbow, but will ask anyway......

Any ideas on plain wheels that will fit an LR3? I hate the thought of damaging an LR alloy wheel, if something plain is available.
