Either could do it, but neither are the best, first one would need 2 amplified ariels for tv on the move.
The second only suitable in good reception areas when stationary.
For good reception on the move you need twin amplified ariels and twin tuners.
Problem you may have is the fact you have a OEM overhead DVD player, and getting it to marry with a GVIF unit, and for this reason it may be better to follow the OEM option.It can when others can't,

My Rosen overhead DVD plays ok through the gvif unit onto satnav screen ok. (only when stationary of course )Pot Noodle Challenge Winner 2011

And you can get all the freeview channels, dab radio and a USB connection for a memory stick, card reader or hard drive which you can record or play mp3, mp4 and avi files. I havn't tried the latter yet.It can when others can't,

I am donig a similar thing as the moment in my D3, to access the video inputs on the screen i go through the hidden menu. Is their a quicker/better was of viewing the video inputs?
