Anyone had an MOT under new rules yet?
Mine is with the mechanic now.
The only "fail" (I say fail because it hasn't actually been tested yet) was a dog chewed seatbelt in the third row - by a previous owner presumably. Nothing was said about the EGR's blanked out.
The other thing was the brake light had come on and that apparently would also be a fail. Not as relevant to me as they were due to be changed anyway...D3 07 SE - still going strong
D3 07 HSE - gone to car heaven
FL1 - gone to Romania
D3 05 HSE - gone to a divorce diet
D1 V8 manual - gone but not forgotten
RR Classic - gone to car heaven

A lot of scare press on new MOT but not really anything to worry about

LED side lights? if you have swaped standard bulbs to LED is that not allowed under new rules. I also swapped out my reverse bulbs for LED

I’ve also got LED reverse lights. I’ve decided to leave them in as people on here have had there cars pass under the new rules with LED sidelights. It’s passed for the last 2 Year’s with them in although that was under the new rules.

reverse lights shouldn't be an issue.
Not sure when reversing light test was introduced anyway

Yeah that was my view. The biggest worry was the EGR issue...D3 07 SE - still going strong

Mine passed on the 1st of June with Led front side lights, Led side repeater units not bulbs and Led numberplate bulbs. No mention of any of them at all. 2006 TdV6 HSE.
Same here led lights all over the place but not a mention. Egr,s blanked (But pipe work still in place) no problem The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the best of everything they have.

I'd never even considered the number plate leds and front side light leds might be a fail.
I thought if they were CE approved there shouldn't be a problem anyway?Mods:

Isn’t the only way the tester can see if lights are E marked (I think that’s the car standard) to physically take the bulb out and look, which they don’t do?

Congratulations on pass. Mine is due in 2 weeks.
Question
You say your EGR valves are blanked. Did you refit the EGR pipes?
Mine is blanked - the pipes are off but I still have them. Should I refit them on top of the blanking plates?
