Anyone recognise this stolen /recovered Essex 2012 D4 SDV6 ?

Sorry not best photo

I was considering this discovery 4 for sale.

The owner wasn't aware it was a stolen and recovered CAT N write off from 2018. 😕

It spent most of life down in East Sussex and laterally it was in ESSEX until recently were it was brought to Scotland and it's now for sale .

It drives impeccably, has MOT. Looks perfect . is a great price. Just want to dig more to see how it was wrote off as it was only 6 years old when it happened.

Nothing to do with me, but surely it was written off as it was stolen recovered Question
It was probably paid out on insurance before it was recovered hence its category Question
My last D4 was a Cat D and was written off at 6 months old. It’s now my daughters car and has been an excellent buy, so don’t be afraid if it’s what you want at the right price Very Happy

Totally agree regards write offs. My current car was CAT N and only needed a new bumper
I still have it . But always good to see if anyone on here has first hand experience of this vehicle.

if its stolen/recovered it might not have any damage at all, its just classed as a write off because the insurer made a full payout on it after it was stolen.

If true, then there's been fraud committed somewhere down the line.

It is highly likely because the vehicles identity VIN was cut out and changed...
This creates the obvious reidentification hassles and as such blights the car for life.
