Anyone work for a RIB manufacturer ?

We're starting to look for quotes for our new lifeboat, plus build time and manufacturing slots.
It will need to be coded to the Rescue Boat Code (RBC) and looking around the 8-9m mark (roughly the equivalent of the RNLI's Atlantic 85)
Have spoken to the "usual suspects" Humber/Ribcraft/Delta etc and just wondered if anyone works for a rib manufacturer or has any other recommendations ?

I don't work for a rib company but used to be in the military and based at Gibraltar Squadron.

We used to have Arctic 24s with 2 x 200HP Mercury outboards that were very quick and very stable at high speed. 50knots +

Also had Pacific 24s that use inboard Diesel engine and water jet drive. Again very good rib. Both proven to be robust and good load carriers.

Think Halmatic are the Manufacturer but they do have larger options depending on your needs.

Hope this gives you another option to investigate Thumbs Up

Thanks Buckster....I have spoken to 2 independents who both use Arctic 24's and rate them highly
BAE were useless at getting back to us,but I'll have another go Thumbs Up
I think we're looking at max 150's either side....but I do like the sound of 200's Twisted Evil
We've toyed with the idea of water jets and inboards, but it looks like we're definitely going outboard....the Pacific is a nice boat though Thumbs Up

I'm sure with all the media attention St.Abbs has drawn that it could be of interest to them.

He's busy raising funds for his production company "Seadog Productions".....his initial target was £250k but it went so well they decided to release a second lot of "shares" to raise more
It helps when you can get LR to pay for jaunts down to S.Africa of course

Not my pic but the Arctics used to do this all day long, not so good on the hull and transom/gearboxes but they were constantly cained for many hours every day by different coxswains with a "I don't have to fix it if it breaks attitude and they very rarely did! Great fun with the 200s on and even better that it wasn't our fuel bill Laughing Whistle

Euang,

Not entirely sure if they do build to rescue craft code but try quinquari marine based in west wales. Humber hills and tubes then fitted out by them. The do all sorts! Used to operate a 10m built by them and it's a brilliant boat. They are a big supplier of offshore commercial ribs so may be able to help!!!!

Running with the twin Yamaha 75's on the Atlantic 75,our annual fuel bill was around £900....that will go up when we put the twin 150's on....and we no longer have a "fuel card" Laughing

"Running with the twin Yamaha 75's on the Atlantic 75,our annual fuel bill was around £900..????"

Eh? That s ridiculous!!! My boats tender has a Yamaha 115 and we are burning ridiculous amounts! I dread to think what my total bill for this year will be! Though the boss does like to travel fast wherever we go and seeing as he is used to paying for fuel being burnt around 500 litres an hour on the main yacht I don't think he cares!!!!
