Asda Price
Last Thursday, we'd just left home in a nice clean Discovery and were looking forward to the forthcoming weekend in Harrogate, when we had to stop at the back of a queue of traffic. The Mercedes Sprinter Asda delivery van decided that he would use the back of our car as a buffer!
Fortunately the car was still drivable, although it needs a new back bumper (and various bits of trim), lower tailgate, and repairs to the upper one.
The van was left a crumpled mess at the side of the road (I'd have liked to have left the driver like that too, but they tell me we're not allowed to do that any more ).
I've tried to post a photo or two, but have been unsuccessful so far.
One consolation was that despite the bad start, the weekend was great!

Sorry to hear about your accident but at least nobody was hurt, like you say the weekend itself went well.
I have a fixed tow bar for that purpose , here in London people seem to use that a as a parking buffer , I don't suppose you had one on and any pics yet , I would like to see that And bad luck 2008 ,hse, it does what it says .

I had a lady in a mondeo hit the back of me on the mway some time ago, popped the reflectors but that was it.
towbar was fitted.
she took her front bumper home in the boot
try fitting one of these for extra protection and entertainment

If I'd known I was going to be so thirsty this morning I'd have drunk more beer last night.

Unfortunately I have a detachable tow bar, which was, er, detached!
I've not had chance to have another go at the photos yet - still having to work for a living as well as trying to keep my much prettier other half in the lifestyle to which she has become accostomed.
Discojase, yes I do have a forum sticker on the back window (and a disc on the front window too). We arrived Thursday tea time and left on Monday morning. The car was parked at the Holiday Inn for the duration.
I'll have a go at the photo's again.
Thanks for the responses.
Nigel.

Try bunging them onto Photobucket, much easier especially if you use iPad or iPhone.
Nice towbar DD , hoew does that fit on, is there a mount behind to the towing eye?
I have a Sankey widetrack trailer, but it only gets pulled by the 90, it has a nato hitch bolted straight on the crossmember, that keeps the tailgaiters at bay too Altox GSM FBH controller thread

Doesn't look much, but any damage is too much in my mind.

Ouch
Hope you get it sorted on Asda's insurance quick enough, mind you at least you have the comfort of knowing they took the bigger hit.
I know they have people slapping their butts in their adverts but surely slapping a disco's butt with your van costs a little more than ASDA Price
