Thought the average went on the last 100 miles? It did drop to 36 on the way back down although I was doing slightly more than 70 Whistle

Brim to brim average was 33.8 mpg.
Put 98 quid in at 130.1p a litre and had done 560 miles on the tank. But then that includes a load of town driving. I reset it for the run up Thumbs Up

My theory is when your MPG. Starts to go up, your crankshaft or oilpump casing is about to go .....

My MPG is a reassuring 25.2 !

the above theory is the same on anything fitted with a TD5 - if the fuel economy goes up then the head gasket is about to let go Rolling Eyes
