Attaching thule atlantis 900 to standard LR roof bars |
|
Was wondering how people found the best way to attach thule roof box to the standard Land Rover roof bars.
Do most people use the quick claw attachment as fitted to the roof box, or do they use the t-track fittings.
If so, which fitting kits do people use ?
Much appreciated the best way to fit for ease of use and look/best use of available space.
Regards

Hi Windy, i'm thinking of doing the same and using the t-track.
I have standard Land Rover roof bars and the web-site roofbox.co.uk you refer too, do two types of t-track fittings for the
thule atlantis 900.
Which fitting kit should i go for Thule Power-Grip T-track aerobar roof box adapters no. 697-4 or
Thule Power-Grip T-track aerobar roof box adapter no. TU696-2
Much appreciated.

I've just done 3500mile trip with a Thule Pacific 500 attached to std LR bars using the Thule claw, and I'm pleased to say that it all stayed in place.
(I did have additional cam straps around the whole lot, as it was going off road, but these proved superfluous) Long succession of Disco's since 2001...

Hi,
Used LR bars and Thule 900 for long trip to ireland and all went well and dead easy to fit.
Only thing is with rear bar and the thule claws is when you open the tailgate the spoiler top just rubs on bottom of box.
Will fit a thin neoprene strip next time just to lift the box 1- 2mm higher to clear.
