I highly rate the Autel- it’s one of the easiest readers I’ve used and it does everything I need. Defender 110 2.4 TDCi Utility Station Wagon.

Hi,
Has anyone tried programming a new key fob & key (bought new, from the dealership) using the Autel AP200? It’s an All Keys Lost, situation. On a 2005 LR3. I’ve tried a few times. But I’m not Sure if they’ll program a key, unless you have one that starts the vehicle?
I’m hoping That I’m mistaken & that it will indeed program a single key & fob, when you only have the new key fob/key.
I’m pretty desperate at this point! It’s been sitting for months now! No dealership near me claims to program 2005 models, anymore. But they left that part out when they sold me the $400 key.

I think most need 1 working key as you say.
An alternative would be to purchase off ebay a matched kit of:
engine ecu
CJB glovebox fusebox
Dash instruments
Key
and fit them all. That should allow the car to start.
Need to ensure you purchase the correct parts for your car, e.g. petrol and year
That should start your car and then program your second key

One thing to be aware of with the Autel when setting up and downloading the make of vehicle you want to use it on is that you choose the correct make and country before you click on it, I for instance wanted Ford but after selecting Ford I find it was Ford usa not Ford eu which was lower down, I was then invited to download another program to run it.
Although I have not downloaded the Ford usa program I cannot cancel it and I will be charged to download the correct one I want and that is only for a year and I’ve got to pay again.
I have had no response from Autel except to be kept waiting about an hour with the message “please wait while one of our technicians is available”.
Far cry from GAP when I had a problem who at 6-30pm one Saturday evening ask me to hook a laptop up to my car for them to remotely get it running after I cocked an upload up. It can when others can't,

I guess try another phone or tablet
or delete the app, reboot phone and reinstall it. (says an apple user)

Thanks for the suggestion but it didn’t work and still no reply from Autel, I keep asking myself if there is much difference from UK Ford version to US version of software, both say it is v2.1.
It really is bad how they can list Ford us and two steps down of other makes then list Ford eu which is hidden until you scroll down the list once you highlight it you’ve got it no going back.
If you’ve got to wait this length of time whenever you have a simple problem who wants to buy an Autel?- can you imagine being broken down at the side of the road and having to wait this long. It can when others can't,

Surprised you cant use the red icon app if you just want to read engine codes in any car.

I have a red app maxiap200 which is the main app to use and can be used for engine codes on any car.
And a blue app diag-Europe (in my case) for the paid and advanced features
Well I think so anyway
