Hi I have a 2005 D3 auto done 185k miles it's hunting a little at2000 rpm can more harm be done than good by getting the box flushed or should I just drop as much oil out as it will allow and refill

Search on here and it will reveal all you need to know...!
But basic answer is yes....!
you have a choice to either renew the oil yourself..with or without replacing the sump pan and filter (your choice) This will change approx 60% of oil id say..easilly done at home.
Or..have a full megaflush done, which will replace ALL the oil in the box including whats in the torque converter.
Either way if you add a couple of bottles of dr tranny lube you WILL notice a massive improvement.
Good luck

many on here have had it done with zero problems....Bristol transmissions is not far from you and they have a very good reputation.
Myself i have done a few self changes and added dr tranny....my gearbox was horendous and mine is still going strong at 186k

Might try the dr tranny you added it through the cooler or the drain and is it wise to take some out or will the addition of dr tranny not over fill it

you will have to take some out of the filler tube as it will overspill otherwise.
to be honest if your going to the trouble of getting to that point you may as well change the old crappy oil whilst your at it via the 'filo' method
