Quote:Was your DSC off Question
Andrew, TBH I was still finding my way in the D3, my first thought
was I did some thing stupid, but I would say, it was on. As a matter
of fact, to date I only switch the DSC off on descents, then only if it
is a really scary descent I would use it. I tend to be quick on the
brakes when loosing traction on a assent and try not spin the wheels
looking for traction when stationary. This could be why I have not
stalled it yet. D3 bullbar-spots-roof rack with spots-ladder-long range tank-swing out spare wheel carrier- upgraded tow bar-dash console-internal water tank-duel awnings-drawer system & T T.

Didn't someone say that there was anew torque converter on MY08 onwards? “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

As the poll is not there yet...
Yes the manual stalls when it really shouldn't do. Just like the video, you have plenty of revs and then bam. Revs drop and no matter how much right foot you give, they don't rise.

I was thinking of this today, and was wondering about the rev limiter being hit and cutting engine power when you need it most. Neil Pettersen beat me to it tho - does the still still happen at 3/4 accelerator instead of pedal to the metal? Dr. Ian Malcolm:

Transgenic tomato anyone?

Guess it's simply just foxed then
Any chance the Auto fluid level is low and hence drawing bubbles when under high load/steep angle? I still have no trust for the concept of "sealed for life"... Dr. Ian Malcolm:

Andrew,
any update from your dealer? I was trying hard to get mine to stall on climb today but it eithier went straight over the top or I had to back it down, depending on gear mode etc.

Still waiting for the dealer to actually send the info
Anyway take a look at this.
My car stalls at
4.33
5.25
6.33
Note that it stalls even though I was not 'booting it' or being 'aggressive'
Whilst trying the up hill foot prints I do try harder each time. BTW DSC was off at all times.

serious cross axle action 4:25

Andrew,
what happens if you stop on a hill (just before the point where it stalls) can you rev the engine? or does it die?
I've watched the video a couple of times and it's as if the engine gives up, could it be fuel pressure or feed related due to the angle?

It just dies I have managed to stop a few times before it actually stalls and the engine will still run or tickover but at the point of stalling, if I select N the revs pick up to tick over.
In this video at 8.10 in the car stalls and ends up sliding backwards, not very safe

Perhaps you could lift the front of the car up with the engine running, lift it up until it stops. Maybe it will give you a clue?

Unintentionally I started a separate thread about this (http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/post405788.html#405788) DOH!
Relieved my embarrassment was no "fault" of mine but was wondering if Anrew's LR dealer has come back with any feedback?
Planning to take mine too, would be nice to know what to look for/tell them when they say "car is ok, must've been your driving".
Thanks
(PS if the poll is up could somebody point me to it?)
